2012 Spring Lake Spelling Bee

Seth Foote won the annual Spring Lake School Spelling Bee for 2012. Six students (two students each from fourth, fifth, and sixth grade) were in contention. They were Ashleigh Christopherson and Clara Guilkey from fourth; Madison Raines and Cameron Williams from fifth; and Seth Foote and Lauren Russell from sixth. All six students studied hard and did quite well, but the final two were Cameron and Seth. Cameron misspelled "clinic," then Seth went on to correctly spell "dreadful" and "praise." Seth will compete on February 24th at the annual Tazewell County Spelling Bee at Tremont High School. We are very proud of Seth and wish him good luck at the County Bee. We are also very proud of Sheldon Lovelace, a Spring Lake alumnus, who won the Rankin Spelling Bee!
